Nottingham Castle Grounds
The icon of Nottingham has a beautiful area inside.
The Nottingham Castle Grounds are very well kept and offer a very relaxed place to spend your time. It is located on top of a hill, so you will have a lovely view from here. Other areas include many benches and nice natural sceneries.
History of the castle goes back to 1067, although it's present visual dates back to 1660 when it was completely restored by Henry Cavendish. It was used for battles and for trials. Nowadays it houses the Nottingham Castle Museum and the Long Gallery. You can go and explore the Castle Caves, or learn about the history of the castle and Robin Hood, who is a legendary outlaw and allegedly lived in the Sherwood forest.
You can enter the area for a small fee, or purchase a yearly ticket.
